Our current group accounts pages look like this:
I would like them to look more like this:
-The name is used to replace the "Show Group" header.
-"Group Admin" is now listed in "Members"
-The subheader "Content" is removed, now text is simply displayed.
-The "Topics" section below needs to be renamed "Comments".
*New ability: on phones users can swipe right to see "Topics" margin to the left.
-users can add topics
-once clicked on, the screen pops over to the right, (like the user had swiped left), and sees the topic/thread.
-Each topic starts off with a link users can use to bring people to it, (no login required to see content). -we don't need it to keep track of times or dates people post in topics, but we will need to see who posted, and have that link back to their account if someone clicks on it.
The layer system appears to already be available on group account pages and might be useful in conjunction with these updates so lets make sure new layers get them too. -Group account page layers, which may well end up functioning very differently than wiki post layers.
Let's add features to /ai too
And a few things to the backend.
-For starters, users need to be able to access the conversations they've had with the assistant, and that would be a great first thing to add to /ai. (there's a bunch of features I'd like to integrate once we can, such as telling the assistant how they want the assistant to talk or function. I would also like to make our own backend instructions to the assistant visible to build trust and inspire more transparency online).
-Users might need to search up stuff so we need to add an option for that too.
*I need to know what people are asking this thing, not only is it insanely useful in terms of improving Needpedia's design, but it can enable me to protect the community literally and legally. I realize this represents a form of mass surveillance, but we still don't know how bad actors will use our tools, and some are incredibly easy to abuse, so I'd like your help developing the following feature regardless. Soon I'll work to automate processes like these and make the AI's underlying processes public so that there's no room left for someone to abuse, but for now please enable me to see the conversations users have with the assistant in the master admin section, (when I open a user's account, I need to be able to see their past conversations with the assistant *and do searches for terms like bomb or ice).
