Needpedia's kind of complicated so before it goes public we should
develop an AI assistant that helps people use it, and helps them
collaborate on important ideas in the world.. (There's currently a different post about creating an AI that hunts for bots available here.) To see the dev layer for this post click here.
Functions:
lvl1: can explain what Needpedia is and answer questions about how to use it.
lvl2: asks users about their interests, then guides them to related content or instructs them to start conversations.
lvl3: can create and edit content for users.
lvl4: can help organize existing content, (necessitating correspondence with content authors to gain their approval or defer disputes to us humans)
lvl5: capable of actively coaching users into participation to make the world a better place, (in a way that's not annoying, hence the challenge)
Aesthetics:
This is an opportunity to create something people love. (this is the kinda thing where lots of ideas sound good but we should only settle on one that resonates with lots of different kinds of people because everyone's gonna have to deal with this little character). Please share any inspiration you might have but don't get too attached in case we pick someone else's idea.
Questions: (feel free to add more).
-What AI would be best to use for this? (it seems to require a lot of power so OpenAI's API's sound reasonable but those also seem really expensive)
-How much does it cost to use, realistically?
-Is it cheap enough that users who can pitch in a few bucks a month can cover the cost of users who need to ask for fee waivers?
-How exactly would users access the AI?
-Where is its memory stored?
-How do we make our AI prompts and other details public?
