If you're walking down the path and see Thag sprained his ankle, you would think 'Thag need help back to village', not 'Thag is [input concept of what someone could theoretically be, if they are weak or something]', then judge whether or not he deserves help.
Need literacy is probably the original form of human consciousness, it is far more simple and intuitive. And effective. People in power needed to use labels, judgement, loaded terms and other tools to deceive people into thinking war and other things would be a good idea.
As human Psychology and AI continue to evolve, the ability to quickly distinquish between frameworks which address the needs actually underlying problems, becomes important. Particularly for researchers trying to innovate in the field.
For anyone interested in learning more there's a great workshop on NVC available on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7TONauJGfc
NVC's core claim is that the operating system of the human mind runs on needs the way computers run on instruction sets. All human behavior results from perceptions of needs and wants.
