Springwater Corridor pass under the Hawthorne bridge

Some aspects of this idea may prove to be controversial, so the following layer is dedicated to discussing the idea through the lens of NVC.

Needs come in a few varieties:

-Needs of the community

-Needs of the project (materials, labor, etc...)

-Needs of the city (zoning laws etc...)

Needs of the community:

-A place to go and socialize or simply relax

-A place for musicians, (In this case drummers and dancers, since it's under a loud bridge)

-This section of the Springwater Corridor needs to be safer

***There's not enough shelter for people so they end up seeking refuge under the bridge, which means anything nice that we build without addressing homelessness will be subject to the effects of it. If we build nice benches, they might end up with lots of graphitti, and damage. And possible biohazards. We need to take care of homelessness before we have the ability to make public outdoor spaces that have all the nice things we'd like. (So let's aspire to solving homelessness and transforming the entire world into a paradise!)

Needs of the city:

-We're gonna need someone's permission to access the upper area where the benches (and performers) would go.

-It would be wise to coordinate with at least one city official about what we're doing, hopefully they'll even want to help.
